Can I heat the whole house with an air source heat pump?
It is not possible to give any exact answers to this as it depends on so many factors. Let's start by stating that the air source heat pump is a complement, i.e. you can never completely replace your existing heating system with an air source heat pump. However, if the house has an open floor plan and the heat pump is sized and positioned correctly, you can heat most of your house for most of the year. In these cases, you can count on the heating requirement to approx. 80-90% is covered by the air heat pump.
How much can I save with an air source heat pump?
Generally speaking, you usually talk about a saving of approx. 40-60% if the house has an open floor plan, the dimensions are correct and the location of the indoor part is central so that it enables maximum spread of the heat. Of course, in combination with Airmove, you can make the heat spread throughout the house.
Does the indoor air really get better after installing an air source heat pump?
Yes, it actually will be! Today's air source heat pumps have advanced filter systems with a coarse filter that captures dust and a finer mesh filter that eliminates allergens, viruses and bacteria. The best proof that the indoor air actually improves is that many allergy sufferers find that their problems have been alleviated after having an air source heat pump installed.
How much maintenance does the facility need?
It depends on which model you choose. The most common is that the filters need to be cleaned once or twice a month. We think most people are happy to take the time to do that, especially as you get paid for it in the form of savings!
We also recommend a maintenance service with operational control and more advanced cleaning after two years of use and at regular intervals thereafter. A maintenance service carried out by us ensures that the heat pump works as it should and extends the life of the heat pump.
