Christer Pettersson and his daughter live in a crofter's cottage in the middle of the forest in Fagersta.
The house was moved to its current location in 1975, but no one really knows when it was built. Just like all old houses, Christer's two-story house had that slightly old and stale cottage smell that easily permeates clothes.
Christer and his then-partner didn't want to do what many others do in old houses – try to mask the smell. Instead, they wanted to get to the root of the problem.
“Many try to get rid of the old cottage smell by covering it up with scented oils and other things, but that doesn't make the bad smell disappear.”
Since they also felt that the air in the house was a bit heavy, they decided to try to improve the ventilation in the house, and that's when they came into contact with Airmove and their products.
Airmove installed an Airmove 2.0 in the bedroom, which circulates air between floors, and an Airmove 3.0, which is a self-adjusting fresh air vent, in the children's room and one in the living room. This ensures that Christer gets fresh air into the house and that it circulates between floors for a more even temperature.
After the installation, Christer states that there was an enormous difference in the air quality in the house and that the cottage smell was gone. He feels that the air is fresh and that both he and his daughter feel more energetic and healthier, and also sleep better at night.
“The air feels absolutely perfect.”
