A recurring problem in many basements is that many people close the valves that are there because they draw cold. This causes stagnant air in the basement and over time the air "sours" and becomes saturated with moisture from poor inflow and outflow, which creates a distinct basement smell. In order to avoid being affected by cellar smells and a damp cellar environment, the cellar must be ventilated.
Airmove has the solution with smart supply air valves for basements
With a fresh air valve from Airmove, you don't have to manually regulate the intake, which instead takes care of itself, after which the temperature outside changes. Airmove's valves are self-regulating and automatically adapt the air gap and air volume to the outside temperature with a temperature-sensitive thermostat bulb. In its auto mode, air supply decreases when the outside temperature falls and increases when the outside temperature rises.
The number of fresh air vents in the basement is governed by how many rooms there are, but a rule of thumb is 1 vent per 25 sq m. If the room is larger than 25 square meters, two fresh air valves should be installed.
